TIME IS NOW

TIME IS NOW / Reviewed by Alex Thomas

I'm proud to review Will Demers latest production named TIME IS NOW. Proud because Brother Factory is from my hometown and lots of the shots are filmed in Quebec City. Not to mention the endless list of great riders who attack rails after rails to prove the rest of the world that they can match any rider on the urban snowboard scene. The insane riding include the skills of Jeremy Cloutier, Frank April, Kael Hill, Nic Bertrand, Jason Dubois and many others.

What I really liked about the movie is that the filming is active. That means that there is so many different camera angles, more original from one to a other. This movie is also packed with awesome rails and wallrides but you don't get to see pipe riding, big-airs or backcountry riding like the west coast productions. That is maybe why the crew headed out west for a road trip. The road trip section is the one that I enjoyed the most. A bunch of good rider in a camper, stopping when they feel like to hit all the spots they find along the way. Friendship, freedom, snow and adventure, which is what every snowboarder is living for.

The stand out rider of this movie is for the second time in a row is Jeremy Cloutier. He can ride everything with so much style. Big props go out to Nic Bertrand for his overall riding in Time is Now.

On the bad side, the reference to drugs and the drug use showed in the movie is something that I would remove from the video. It is not a great image to show to the very young up and comers who watch snowboard movies after snowboard movies.

( Even if the movie is green...) Time is now is getting a good rating from the Snowboard-life Rate-O-Meter: 8/10
