SHINE ON |
Let me put it this way, it has been a total crappy day with no snow in sight. What is better than a snowboard movie to make you smile and get you pumped? Nothing!I reached for the first movie on the pile I had to review; SHINE ON by Sandbox. I turned the DVD case and read: ‘‘An HD snowboard film about questionable people doing questionable things’’. I said to myself ‘‘Sound Goods! That’s what I need today!’’ and put the DVD in the player. As soon as I pressed play, my day was already getting better. I noticed that the images in the intro were filmed by helicopter. It shows that Kevin Sansalone and Clayton Larsen had a reasonable budget for their film and it shows in the scenes. Some of the feature riders in the movie were Nash Lajeunesse, Nic Brown, Kael Hill, Ryan Tiene and Brendan Keenan. As you already know, there is no need to worry for any lack of talent in that snowboard flick. My preferred parts were Ryan Tiene and Brendan Keenan portion of the movie. Both parts had things in common; the two are very complete with powder, freeride, jumps and rails. Ryan and Brendan tool boxes of tricks are definitely well-filled. Image after image, the movie is packed with action shots from a Japan trip to Dwayne Weibe insane moves, without forgetting Nic Brown’s powder lines. You still wonder if the movie is about doing people doing questionable things? Well I have to say yes... But not just because of that dog who does wall rides... The arrow on the Snowboard-life.com rate-o-meter is pointing 8 out of 10. Visit the Platinum Distribution to buy your copy of SHINE ON. |
