Rome SDS Ask the Rider - Live Interview with Bjorn Leines

We've all read shred interviews before and thought, “I could come up with better questions than this crap.” Well, now's your chance to prove it by throwing some interview questions at a Rome team rider and hear the answers almost immediately.

On Wednesday, June 17th, from 3 pm to 5 pm Eastern Time (see time zone list below), Rome SDS Pro Shred Bjorn Leines will be on Twitter to answer all of your questions in real time. You ask a question, he answers it.

Here's how it will work:
1. Log on to Twitter at the designated time
2. Submit your question in the “What Are You Doing?” box
3. End your question with a #Rometeam
4. Bjorn will fire back his answers to your questions
Where did he ride this past season? What's his favorite cereal? Where's the best pow? TP: fold it or bunch it? Does this look infected? (Of course you'll need to include a photo for the last one.) The questions are all up to you.

In addition, Rome SDS will be picking a question at random that has the #Rometeam “hashtag” in it, and hooking that lucky rider up with a new pair of Bjorn's choice of boots—the 2010 Rome Folsom boots with SkateCuff technology.

So call in sick if need be, skip school, log in from your iPhone, or do whatever you need to do and get on a computer at:

3-5 Eastern
2-4 Central
1-3 Mountain
12-2 Pacific

TEAM TERROR: THE ROME SIGNATURE SESSION AT WINDELLS

June is here and the Summer Camp of Terror is about to start at Windells—a bloodbath of shred with Artifact 1985s impaling LNP, Folsom boot laces strangling Bjorn, and the 390 rising out of Trillium Lake to decapitate campers with the edge of the highback.

And adding to the fun of it all is Team Terror.

Team Terror is the Rome Signature Session at Windells when riders from the SDS descend on camp. During Session 3 from June 26th to July 3rd, Rome riders Bjorn Leines, Eiki Helgason, Marius Otterstad, and Johnnie Paxson will be at camp to coach and hang out with riders. They'll design custom features on hill during the day and play games of S.K.A.T.E. in BOB (Windells' skate facility) at night with the campers.

The Windells demo center will be loaded with the new 2010 line from Rome: Poprock powered Artifact 1985s, super snappy Mods, 390s, Libertines, and more. As always Rome Night will feature the opportunity to win a ton of Rome schwag, including a new 2010 jacket from the SDS Outerwear collection.

Head to www.windells.com to sign up for Session 3 so you don't miss out the signature session with the Rome team at Hood this summer.

Stay tuned to www.romesnowboards.com for more updates on the happenings of the Rome SDS.

Cricket Campus Rail Jam Tour – PORTLAND FINALS SUPER RECAP!

Portland has a reputation for being a weird city.  Even as a PDX local, you’re bound to stumble upon new oddities nearly every day.  But even with weird as the norm, the Cricket Campus Rail Jam Tour turned up the bizarre even more and transformed Portland into a downright freak show.  Something about snow in the summer attracts the most awesome/interesting amalgamation of human beings one will ever witness.  30 tons of snow and the nation’s best college shreds may have been the main attraction, but when the beer started flowing and the vagrants came out of the woodwork, the day turned into much more than your average rail jam.

The 90-degree heat made things interesting, turning the landing into sloppy margarita slush, but that didn’t seem to affect the top finishers as they put on the best show the Tour has ever seen.  Third place finisher Seth Hill’s good vibes matched his stylie stunts and landed him some skrilla for his efforts.  Kyle Martola’s back swivel 540’s were sending the crowd into a frenzy and must have got the judges excited too.  Kyle scooped some benjamins and a new Omatic stick for his creative riding.  The man of the hour was Josh Bishop taking the crown as the winner of the 2009 Cricket Campus Rail Jam Tour.  Josh was rewarded with a briefcase full of 1,500 $1 bills, some killer headphones from ZAGG and a new board courtesy of GNU.
